circumstance,

In every generation, God raises a

woman who refuses to be confined by culture, or limitation—a woman who rises, redefines possibility. rebuilds, and Reverend Kathy Kiuna is one such woman. An icon to her generation, she embodies resilience, elegance, faith, and fearless purpose. Her story is not merely one of influence; it is one of becoming.

At 21, Kathy gave her life to Christ. That moment marked a decisive turning point—a surrender that would redirect the course of her life. What began as a personal commitment to serve God would eventually grow into a life of ministry, leadership, authorship, entrepreneurship, and global impact. Yet the journey was not without storms.

As a young mother, she faced challenges that would have discouraged many. Becoming a single mother early in life, she bore responsibilities that felt overwhelming. Later, at 25, she married Bishop Allan Kiuna, hoping for a new beginning. But just as they began building their lives together, financial devastation struck—they lost everything. Their property was auctioned. With two children and no clear path forward, they found themselves starting again from nothing.

At their lowest point, a widow took them in and gave

them shelter. School fees were future was uncertain. The unclear. But their faith was unwavering. Where others would have seen an ending, they saw an altar.

Building from Nothing Guided by conviction and fueled by prayer, Kathy and her husband began what would later become Jubilee Christian Church. There was no capital, no influential backers—only a calling and an unshakable belief in God’s faithfulness. The ministry began with just five people. From that small beginning grew one of the most vibrant ministries in Nairobi and beyond.

In the early days, Kathy led worship as Bishop Allan preached. Over time, roles evolved, but her heart for worship never diminished. A gifted musician, she has released multiple albums, including her deeply reflective solo project, In the Fullness of Time, which chronicles seasons of testing and triumph in their spiritual journey.

Her song Arise captures the essence of her own life. Inspired by the biblical account of the healing at the pool, it calls believers to “get up and shine, for your time has come.” It is more than music—it is a mandate. A declaration. A testimony. >

Passion for

A

“God gave me a passion for women,” Kathy often says. “I want to see women change for good, believe in themselves, and fulfill their destinies.”

This passion birthed a powerful women’s ministry that has transformed countless lives. She recognized a painful reality: many women are gifted, beautiful, and capable—but diminished by insecurity, culture, or misplaced validation.

Her message is clear and unwavering: “As a woman, you should love yourself and be a go-getter. Many women are looking outside for fulfillment, but whatever you need is already on the inside. Don’t limit yourself.”

Through conferences, mentorship, and personal engagement, she has restored marriages, strengthened families, and helped women rediscover their worth. She is not content with surface inspiration; she calls women to deep transformation.

More Than a Pastor’s Wife In many settings, women in ministry are simply labeled “the pastor’s wife.” Kathy refused to be reduced to a title. She is a pastor, teacher, worship leader, and visionary in her own right.

From serving as a secretary to becoming a general overseer, from leading praise and worship to shaping spiritual thought through her writing, her evolution has been remarkable. She has authored several impactful books including Celebrate Yourself, Woman Without Limits, and co-authored works such as Marriage Works, There’s Something About This Name, Intimacy with God, Let Me Go, and Building from the Place of Rest.

Each page reflects her conviction that faith must translate into practical, victorious living. Her favorite phrase—“Get a life”—is both playful and profound. It is her way of reminding women that life is bigger than titles, routines, or expectations. Even as co-founder of a thriving church, she embraces wholeness beyond the pulpit.

Elegance, Discipline, and Balance Reverend Kathy defies stereotypes. She refuses the notion that spirituality must look worn or diminished. In her mid- 50s, she radiates vitality—anchored in discipline and intentional living. >

Women

Her day often begins at 6 a.m. with prayer, followed by exercise. She works out daily, values wellness, and prioritizes self-care. She learned to play golf— initially reluctant—but soon embraced it, eventually serving as Lady Captain. For her, golf became more than a sport; it became a space for reflection, fellowship, and treasured time with her late husband.

She designs clothing through her fashion line, Kathy Kay Couture. She reads. She rests. She laughs with friends. She guards her “me-time.”

She understands a truth many overlook: balance is not accidental; it is intentional. Yet at the center of her life remains family. Watching television with her children, creating moments of warmth and laughter, fiercely protecting her home—these are treasures she holds dear.

Love, Loss, and Legacy After 30 years of marriage, tragedy struck. She lost Bishop Allan Kiuna—the man who had walked beside her through poverty and prosperity, obscurity and influence.

Grief could have silenced her. Instead, it deepened her. With courage and grace, she continued the work they began together. Twenty-seven years after its founding, the ministry stands as living proof that faith outlives hardship and vision outlives

loss. Her leadership today is marked by maturity, strength, and quiet authority. She leads not from ambition, but from conviction.

Rooted to Rise Isaiah 37:31 declares that those who are “rooted downward will bear fruit upward.” Reverend Kathy Kiuna embodies this scripture. Her public fruit is sustained by private depth. Her confidence flows from identity as a child of God—not from applause or achievement.

When asked whether she considers herself successful, her answer is telling: “Yes— but not because of what I do or own. I am successful because of who I am. I have purposed to be happy, satisfied, and content.”

That is the true rise of a woman without limits. Not merely rising in influence— identity. Not merely but rising overcoming hardship—but transforming it into purpose. Not merely building an organization—but building people.

Lady Bishop Kathy Kiuna stands as a beacon to women everywhere: your past does not define you, your losses do not disqualify you, and your limitations do not confine you. With faith, resilience, discipline, and self-belief, you can arise. And when you are deeply rooted in God, you will always bear fruit upward. WWM
